Weed...
FYI
Health care and police officials are warning of the dangers of jimson weed after an alarming rise in the number of teens experimenting with the poisonous plant.
Over the past few weeks, the Cornwall Community Hospital has dealt with at least 15 cases involving 13- to 16-year-olds. About half of them required admission to the intensive care unit -- one was transferred to CHEO in a coma.
Depending on the dosage taken, the effects of the plant -- also known as angel's trumpet, stinkweed or devil's seed -- can set in within hours and can continue for up to four days.
