Work Funcshhtionsss - -with a slur…

Sunday night HAL’s social committee (which consists of Kim and I) organized a fabulous company event. Our company and a few guests arrived at Beckta Dining and Wine for our wine and cheese tasting around 8. I have been here once before for Miranda and Paul's wedding, and both times I was quite pleased with everything (both times i was also drunk though... hmmm coincident. no, seriously, great times, great food!)

I never new how tipsy you could get from a wine tasting. OR that cheese could actually be banned from public transit! But yes, both those are true stories. I tasted 4 wines… and was definitely a tad drunk. And the cheese YUMMY!!! Well except this one called Epoisses – the one that banned from Public Transit in France once it has been opened. Now common… really, who would want to try a cheese that smells soooo bad that it’s actually not allowed on buses or subways (if you don't believe me - check it out)??? Well going back to the first point in this paragraph, I was tipsy, so I braved it. And yep, tasted just like it smelled … GROSS and raunchy! (Check out the picture of making cheese! cool eh!)

I did discover some new yummy wines though!
1. Sancerre, Cherrier Pere & Fils, Loire 2004
2. Tokay Pinot Gris, Paul Zinc, Alsace 2004
3. Zinfandel “Elsbree Vineyard” Crane Canyon, Russian River Valley 2000
4. Vouvray “Moelleux-Le Haut Lieu” Huet, Loire Valley 2003.

And there was a cheddar cheese that looked and tasted like kraft dinner! Also very good. But prob not something I would mention to the staff at Beckta.
I would also like to point out that I took the bus AGAIN!!!! Yep, twice on Sunday!!!! And again, not too bad. I am a huge fan of the #3 bus route, I have discovered that not only does it go to the rideau centre, but it goes to the market, elgin street, preston street and bank street!!! What more could you ask for in a bus route??? - - perhaps a ban on crazies in jogging pants!!! But that’s a whole other blog!

PS - I would like to point out that no cow was harmed in making this blog!

We're going to have a wine and cheese tasting party at our place sometime in the future. Maybe the last weekend you're here?!
