The Great Canadian Cabin and the Secret Entrance

sooo on Thursday i went to the Cabin for country music and cheap rye night. I had a great time, once I figured out where the bar was. You may think this would be an easy task considering I’ve been a frequent drinker at the establishment for over 8 years, but this was not the case.

we truck on up to the front door, pull on the door a few times to discover its locked (of course no one outside bothers saying anything to us so we look wicked cool all confused). We ask someone smoking whats going on and turns out that the entrance is now on the side...

so we walk back down dalhousie, past the money mart - and back to this canopy - - which we had just walked by and were loudly saying "wow, wonder what bar this is?" (of course neither of the bouncers says 'this is the cabin').

so yeah... new look... new music and new entrance..(NO SIGN!)

And the new set up is like a holding take. You are ushered into the bar thinking… great there is only a 40 min line up. You get inside, then realize there is ANOTHER line inside to go upstairs. But at least you can drink, and at least you aren’t outside in –40 weather.

So my advice for you - - beware of the secret hidden line and don’t lose your friends on a different floor. Oh and if you are 19 keep going to the cabin on Fridays and Saturdays (simply b/c I don’t want you at my regular bars)… - - but that is for the NEXT blog entry!!!!
