I am the coupon queen ... as most of you know already... My favourite would be the entertainment book.
A friend at work's daughter is selling them this year for school. For only $35 you too could become a coupon queen (or king).
Let me know if you want one.

Talk Like A Pirate Day
Words and Music: © 2003 by Tom Smith
Dedicated ta Cap'n Slappy an' Ol' Chumbucket,
fer creatin' National Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19th)
Most days are like all of the others,
Go to work, come back home, watch TV,
But, brother, if I had me druthers,
I'd chuck it and head out to sea,
For I dream of the skull and the crossbones,
I dream of the great day to come,
When I dump the mundane for the Old Spanish Main
And trade me computer for rum! ARRR!
T' me,
Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,
It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!
When laptops are benches God gave us fer wenches,
And a sail ain't a low price ta pay!
When timbers are shivered and lillies are livered
And every last buckle is swashed,
We'll abandon our cars for a shipfull of ARRRs
And pound back the grog till we're sloshed! Yo ho....
Don't pick up yer phone and say "Hello,
Our ten-o-clock meeting's delayed",
Ye scrunch up yer face and ye bellow,
"AVAST! Ye've been bleedin' BELAYED!"
Ye can't keep this fun to yerself, I bet,
So sing "Aye!" "ARRR!" "Ayy!" every man!
We ain't got much grasp of the alphabet,
But a damn good retirement plan!
T' me,
Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,
It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!
Whatever's in fashion is in for a thrashin'
And bein' polite is passe!
When it's ev'ry man's duty to grab his proud beauty
And let out a hearty YO HO!
And if this offends you, hold y'r breath as we sends you
Ta Davy Jones' Locker ya go! Yo ho....
We'll tell every banker "Heave to and weigh anchor!"
Buy latte with pieces of eight
We'll fight to be chosen as cap'n or bosun
The loser, o' course, is worst mate!
When we hoist Jolly Roger, the landlubbers dodge 'er,
We fill 'em with loathing and fear,
We'll plunder and pillage each city and village,
Or at least clean out Wal-Mart of beer!
There ain't no computin' or morning commutin',
No "Parking Lot Full" signs for me,
No lawns ta be mowin' or bills to be owin',
I'm knowin' the pull of the sea.
The fresh salty brace of the wind on my face
Through hurricane, sunshine or squalls,
I'm keepin' my eyes on the distant horizon,
Verizon can hold all my calls!
To wear a red coat full o' buckles,
To earn a few duelling scars,
Well, at least we can get a few chuckles
By filling the office with ARRRs!
And maybe we'll never get closer,
Than watchin' 'em on the big screen,
So here's to old Errol and Depp as Jack Sparrow,
And every damn one in between!
T' me,
Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,
It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!
That time in September when sea dogs remember
That grown-ups still know how ta play!
When wenches are curvy and dogs are all scurvy
And a soft-wear patch covers your eye,
Ta hell with our jobs, for one day we're all swabs
And buccaneers all till we die!
So hoist up the mainsils and shut down your brain cells,
They only would get in the way,
Avast there, me hearty, we're havin' a party,
It's "Talk... Like... A Pirate" Day!

so what you are about to read will give you the eeby geebies!!! As always i am interested in what other people do for a living. so when i met Greg's brother and sister in law i started asking questions about what they do. one being a paramedic and the other being a prison guard i was VERY interested.
ohhh DEAR!!! yeah, thats all i have to say!!!
apparently the prisoners in the jail had their brooms confiscated b/c they were "playing with them" - - and they were attaching coat hangers to the broom handles and putting one end in the electrical socket and the other end up their you know what!!! GROSS!!! guess it gave a little umph for 'shock' value... (sorry bad pun i know).
yep, how GROSS IS THAT!!! i will never look at a broom the same way again.
apparently the guards walked by and they were just be having fun with their brooms and wave at the guard!! nightmares!!!
then there was another story where the paramedic was called b/c one of the prisoners put the spring from a clicky pen up his penis! to "see what would happen" - - so apparently he didn't win "smartest prisoner" award that year.

Last night I went to Gracie's in the west end to see Monday's Grace (good show Greg - i especially like that Mr. Jones has made it into the play list). As always was a great time :) we danced, we talked, we drank, we ate - - and of course I judged!!! :) :)
i don't care if it makes me a bad person in some of your eyes, the only difference is that i write down my thoughts and comments, we all know that people think these things. And yeah, i prob make people's list sometimes... but whatever, hope i bring them as much joy as they bring me.
So last night... we have the following unfortunate events:
1. a girl was wearing a brown dress, very nice dress... but she was wearing it with Tivas. you remember, those hideous ugly velcro sandals that looked around 20 years old after 1 use... yep, stylin... let me tell you.
2. next we had muffin top girl. i will say she had nice'ish hair, but she was wearing a tank top that was too small (she does get kudos for wearing a bra that went with her tank - - common offence by Gracie's patrons), and then she had on white runners, a white plastic belt, and these beige khaki baggy pants... well - - as i mentioned at the start - -the key to this story is muffin top. poor girl, she was very thin, but she bought pants that were too small, or grew out of them, and didn't upgrade. oh well... she was entertaining... wonder if she ever did have friends show up or if she flew solo the whole night.
3. socks with birkenstocks .. yep, sooo cliche, but it was there.
As you can tell i didn't stay late - - or maybe there were just not very many people worth judging.
my people of course looked fab! Shannon - - those were GREAT SHOES!

What I learned this week:
1. I get road rage, especially when there are mini vans cutting me off
2. hold a gerbil between both hands and it will die
3. I still don’t like exercising, but I went to the gym today and suffered through it
4. sometimes nice people are mean
5. I really like cucumber and cream cheese on toasted bagels
6. I like hummus on steak
7. I don’t like cleaning
8. Those stupid ‘baby on board’ signs are ridiculous! Just b/c you have a sign doesn’t make me drive carefully around you… I drive carefully around all other cars – b/c they include PEOPLE! (and b/c I don’t want to ruin Angelicar)
9. Stick people make everyone smile
10. one piece knitted outfits are wrong on so many levels (see prior posting)
11. and finally - I missed blogging!!! I’m BACK!

sooo Angelicar and I almost had a big accident yesterday morning. I saw this lady out of the corner of my eyes and was so distracted I almost drove right off the road!
I warn you that what you are about to see may contain scenes that are unsuitable for all humans... to think that some poor sheep gave its cute little wool to make this monstrosity also known as a one piece jumpsuit...
i have tried to depict it below in a sketch, but i'm sure that w/o the full colour it will be hard to appreciate the heinous fashion violation that was committed on August 20th, 2007. So that you can really visualize it, I will let you know that it was orange and pink.
please be prepared for the nightmares that may follow...

********
BRISBANE, Australia -- A woman was killed by a pet camel given to her as a 60th birthday present after the animal apparently tried to have sex with her, police said yesterday.
The woman was killed Saturday about 600 km west of Brisbane when the 10-month-old male camel -- weighing about 300 lbs. -- knocked her to the ground, lay on top of her, then exhibited mating behaviour, police said.

i read this article a couple months ago and it was very very interesting. Summary - there are 4 different generations currently in the workforce and we all behave differently based on the experiences that have happend during our lives.
****************
For the first time ever in Canadian history, there are four generations of people on the work force at the same time. As so-called Traditionalists, Boomers, Gen Xers, and Gen Yers intersect in the workplace, their attitudes, ethics, values, and behaviours can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and potential conflict.
Traditionalists: Born between 1922 and 1945
Baby Boomers Born between 1946 and 1964
Gen Xers: Born between 1965 and 1980
Gen Yers: Born between 1981 and 1999
While most of us are sensitive to the role different cultural backgrounds play in people’s work and learning styles, their approaches to communication, and their attitudes toward authority and leadership, we might not have thought enough about age difference being a determining factor when it comes to workplace divisions.
Social scientists and demographers are now pointing to the differences between the generations as a strong variable determining interactions and work-styles in the workplace.
While a handful of sociologists differ as to the exact dates, the most popular division of the four generations is as follows:
